About the film
Ducks, An Urban Legend is a bold Israeli dark comedy that follows five unforgettable characters navigating life on the “wrong” side of Tel Aviv. Yossi desperately tries to hold his relationship and wedding dreams together; Asaf and his partner Anna resort to absurd measures to unlock his grandfather’s pension; and Elias, a lonely Palestinian awaiting a heart transplant, is forced into cooperation with the Israeli security services. As their lives collide in tales of love, loss, survival and grace, the film blends sharp humor with poignant humanity, offering a quirky yet deeply moving portrait of resilience and redemption in the urban landscape. MEET THE FILMMAKER
Shahar Rozen is an Israeli film director and screenwriter known for Ducks, an Urban Legend (2022), a dark comedy about interwoven lives in Tel Aviv. He has directed both narrative films and documentaries like Round Trip and Liebe Perla, and his work has screened at international festivals. Rozen also teaches acting and has won awards for his films and scripts.
