Marina is a successful lawyer in Tel Aviv who has worked hard to forget her traditional Georgian roots. Her life changes when she must travel to a snowy, isolated village in the mountains to find an 11-year-old boy. To get him home, she must survive a difficult road trip with the boy's uncle, Dato—a man who represents the old world Marina tried to leave behind.
As they travel, the cold landscape and the tension between them force Marina to face secrets from her past. The movie is a brave story about how we can never truly run away from where we came from.
This film is a powerful work by director Eti Tsicko, who tells a personal story about the struggle to find where you belong. Her directing makes the rugged mountains feel as intense as the characters' emotions. The lead actress, Neta Riskin, gives an amazing performance as Marina. She even learned the Georgian language for the role, perfectly showing a woman’s journey from being guarded to finding her true self.
