SERET International Israeli Film Festival returns to Germany to bring you face-to-face with Israel in all its intensity, complexity, and vibrant humour. From August 30 to September 7, 2026, join us in Berlin and Munich for a curated showcase of edge-of-your-seat thrillers, sharp comedies, and unflinching documentaries that capture the full spectrum of the human condition. 

Here is what is waiting for you on screen:

The riveting drama Reading Lolita in Tehran, directed by Eran Riklis, follows an English literature professor in post-revolution Iran who risks everything by assembling seven female students to secretly study forbidden Western classics. It screens in Munich on Sunday, August 30 at 8:00 PM, and in Berlin at Kino Central on Monday, September 7 at 7:30 PM.

The poignant documentary Ada: My Mother the Architect, directed by Yael Melamede, exposes the fierce creative drive and personal cost behind pioneering architect Ada Karmi-Melamede, the force behind Israel's Supreme Court building.

Catch it in Munich on Tuesday, September 1 at 8:00 PM, or at the Kino Central Open Air screening in Berlin on Wednesday, September 2 at 8:00 PM.

The chaotic comedy Bella follows a washed-up musician and his childhood friend who launch a frantic, checkpoint-hopping road trip across the country to reclaim their sole inheritance: a rare, prize-winning homing pigeon with a mind of its own.

It screens at Colosseum in Berlin on Thursday, September 3 at 7:30 PM.

The tense character thriller Nandauri, starring Neta Riskin, sends a sharp-witted lawyer back to her remote Georgian birth village to claim an abandoned boy, forcing a ruthless collision between her modern life and buried past wounds.

Screening at Kino Central in Berlin on Friday, September 4 at 7:30 PM. 

The explosive, high-stakes drama Oxygen, starring Dana Ivgy, captures a mother's desperate, unhinged refusal to let her son march into battle when a sudden war erupts on the exact day he is scheduled to finish his military service.

Screening at Kino Central in Berlin on Saturday, September 5 at 7:30 PM, and in Munich on Tuesday, September 1 at 8:00 PM.

The suspenseful father-son drama The Sea follows a 12-year-old Palestinian boy turned away at a military checkpoint who dares to sneak across the border alone to see the ocean for the first time, triggering his father’s desperate race to reach him first.

The explosive investigative documentary Unravelling UNRWA unpacks the high-stakes controversies, allegations, and geopolitical shockwaves surrounding the UN relief agency in the wake of October 7th.
